The SAP CoE Lead – SD & Logistics is a senior technical-functional role responsible for leading the Centre of Excellence for SAP Sales & Distribution (SD), Logistics Execution (LE), and extended modules including Materials Management (MM) and Warehouse Management (WM) as well as integration with other 3rd party applications. The incumbent will own end-to-end SAP program delivery, drive business process transformation, and be the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technology in a high-growth, multi-geography CPG environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Program & Project Leadership • Own end-to-end delivery of SAP SD/LE/MM/WM initiatives from blueprint to go-live, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget adherence. • Develop and govern detailed project plans for SAP and non-SAP implementations, enhancements, and rollouts. • Manage senior business stakeholders, steering committees, and regional IT heads through structured communication and escalation frameworks. • Oversee third-party vendors and AMS partners; enforce SLAs, change-control governance, and quality gates. 2. Business Process Transformation • Act as the primary SME to assess, challenge, and re-engineer order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and warehouse-to-distribution processes. • Proactively identify automation and digitisation opportunities; translate them into actionable SAP roadmap items. • Benchmark processes against CPG industry best practices and SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities to recommend leaner, scalable solutions. • Drive adoption of SAP innovations: aATP, Settlement Management, FSCM Credit Management, SAP TM, SAP EWM, and embedded analytics. 3. Application Support & Governance • Ensure high-quality, SLA-driven support for SAP SD, LE, MM, and WM across incidents, service requests, and change requests. • Establish and enforce process controls, solution documentation, and governance frameworks for all assigned applications. • Lead application upgrade planning, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity management for the SD/Logistics landscape. • Support internal and external audits, including SOX/IT-general controls, segregation-of-duties reviews, and compliance assessments. 4. Stakeholder Engagement & Team Development • Build trusted relationships with business owners (Sales, Supply Chain, Finance) and translate business strategy into SAP capability requirements. • Coach and mentor junior CoE team members; build internal SAP functional competency. • Communicate application changes, system impacts, and project status to diverse stakeholder groups with clarity and confidence. QUALIFICATIONS Education • B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or IT — or MCA. • MBA / PGDBM is an advantage. Experience • 10+ years of SAP functional experience with a minimum of 8 years in SAP SD and Logistics. • At least 4 full end-to-end SAP implementations (preferably S/4HANA), with demonstrable ownership of design, testing, go-live, and hypercare. • Hands-on configuration experience in SAP MM and WM/EWM is mandatory. • CPG / FMCG industry background strongly preferred; global or multi-country rollout experience is a plus. • Minimum 3 years in a lead / CoE capacity managing vendors and business stakeholders. TECHNICAL SKILLS Core SAP Modules (Must Have) • SAP SD: Order Management, Pricing, Billing, Credit Management (FSCM), Revenue Account Determination, Intercompany. • SAP LE / Logistics Execution: Shipping, Transportation Planning, Delivery Processing, Goods Issue. • SAP MM: Procurement, Inventory Management, Vendor Master, Invoice Verification. • SAP WM / EWM: Warehouse Structure, Transfer Orders, Putaway & Picking Strategies, RF/Barcode processes. Advanced & Adjacent Skills • SAP S/4HANA – Fiori, Embedded Analytics, and S/4 migration patterns. • Advanced ATP (aATP) and Settlement Management. • SAP TM (Transportation Management) – working knowledge. • Taxation configuration (GST, VAT, WHT) and cross-module integration (FI/CO, PP, QM). • Non-SAP integrations: middleware (MuleSoft / PI-PO / BTP Integration Suite), EDI, and third-party logistics platforms. • Automation & Reporting: SAP Analytics Cloud, BW/4HANA, RPA tooling, dashboarding.
