Job Requirements Join the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center team in Largo, MD! We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time Day Shift Patient Care Technician to join our Pre-Op team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on patient care, obtain vital signs, assist with patient preparation, perform blood draws and IV placement, transport patients, and support a safe and efficient workflow throughout the department. This role is ideal for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Friday | 5:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties.
• Assist nursing staff with direct patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting daily living activities. • Collaborate with nurses, clinical coordinators, and nurse managers to implement patient care plans and ensure continuity of care. • Accurately document patient information and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate nursing personnel. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. • Support clinical coordinators in coordinating patient care activities and managing workflow within the unit. • Participate in training and development programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Current Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) required. • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. • Blood draw and peripheral IV placement experience required. • Bed cleaning and room turnover responsibilities required. • Previous patient care experience in a hospital, surgical, ambulatory, or healthcare setting preferred. • Ability to obtain and document vital signs, recognize changes in patient condition, and communicate findings appropriately, required. • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
