About this role
PURPOSE STATEMENT: Member of the treatment team who provides for the spiritual needs of residents, families, and staff. The Chaplain assists patients/residents to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Foster an atmosphere of respect and dignity for spiritual needs.
• Offer religious and spiritual guidance to patients.
• Offer prayer o. reflection.
• May participate in committees and patient, conferences to enhance the continuity of care.
• Develop positive working relationship with members of the treatment team.
• Provide consultation and appropriate resources to the interdisciplinary and group therapists regarding the spiritual needs and requests of the patient as they relate to treatment.
• Keep documentation as required.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customer's always. When patient needs are acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
• Completion of curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral care required. • Previous pastoral experience preferred. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• Certification by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
