Aspire Software is looking for an eager, self-motivated and experienced Accountant to join our growing team in Vienna!
As the Accountant, you will work with our team to ensure that the financials are in place that help to build our foundation for decision-making and receive the attention they deserve.
A German language skill set at least at a professional level, both written and verbal, is essential!

The successful candidate will be based anywhere within commutable distance of our office in Vienna, working in a hybrid work model!
What your day will look like:
Perform financial period close tasks and complex journal entries/accounting analysisPerform Balance Sheet analysis and reviews, including reconciliations of accountsPerform day-to-day recording of AP and AR data (Invoices/credit notes, etc.)Make sure all invoices are entered and issued in a timely manner correctly in the ERPFollow up with Vendors/Suppliers regarding missing invoices, full accountability on the cost accruals for the P&L reviewProcess payments, bank transfers, and ensure that approvals are adequateReconcile expense reports, credit cards, invoices, and inter-company transactionsEnsure that key controls and procedures are respected and implemented where neededPreparing financial KPIs and reviewing for accuracyPreparing monthly VAT returns in line with government legislationParticipate in the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirementsProvide necessary information to tax advisors and answer any relevant queriesPrepare ad-hoc performance analysis and management reportingPerform variance analysis of actual results vs. financial plans (budgets and forecasts)About You:
A German language skillset to at least a professional level is essential 3+ years of experience working in a Financial Accounting role is essential A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is highly desirable A professional qualification in bookkeeping and/or accounting is an assetDemonstrable expertise in accrual accounting theory and practice is an assetProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelA detail-oriented self-starter who thrives on accuracy and solving problemsA genuinely curious mindset, capable of quickly learning new systems, and the desire to grow and develop over timeAn innovative thinker with a passion for automation, continuously seeking smarter ways to streamline workflows and drive operational efficiencyA team player who loves challenges and wants to ‘own’ their area of businessStrong work ethic, organized, and focused Strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all organisational levelsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex data into meaningful insightsAn entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and resultsAbility to roll up sleeves and make things happen Great attention to detail and planning skills Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential At least a professional level of German, both written and verbal, is essential Legally authorised to work in Austria If you're a Accountant ready to take on this exciting challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
