About this role
The Lock Desk Analyst plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Secondary department by assisting with various functions such as reviewing rate sheets, conducting pricing audits, and handling lock requests. In addition to these responsibilities, a lock desk analyst is also tasked with managing extensions, processing loan parameter change requests, and facilitating re-locks as needed.
Responsibilities
• Audit the pricing system daily to ensure the accuracy of published rates.
• Ensure all pricing-related data is accurately entered and maintained.
• Review and verify lock requests received by the lock desk.
• Handle lock maintenance requests such as extensions, re-locks, updates, renegotiations, etc.
• Assist with pricing-related questions regarding policies, procedures, and investor guidelines.
• Assist with mandatory trade data preparation, execution, and input.
• Analyze and resolve operational issues associated with rate lock mismatches.
• Research pricing requests and update the system with required pricing changes.
• The Lock Desk Analyst is expected to maintain satisfactory attendance and report to work on time every day.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
The candidate must be self-motivated, willing to ask questions, and interested in the secondary markets. Analytical skills and the ability to understand more complex numerical concepts are necessary, along with the following minimum attributes and qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Finance, or other quantitative focus preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, both internally and externally
• Strong professionalism, ethics and character
• Should exhibit a willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Problem solving skills.
• Critical Thinker with strong aptitude and reasoning problem solver.
• A Strong sense of urgency is needed for this position.
• Ability to work under pressure is an essential function of the job.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Availability for later hours and rotating schedule as needed by the business.
