Job Title: Trayline AttendantJob DescriptionThe Trayline Attendant prepares, assembles, and delivers patient meal trays in a hospital setting, ensuring every tray accurately reflects each patient’s dietary needs. This role supports the food service team by keeping the trayline organized, clean, and efficient, while providing courteous and responsive service to patients and staff.Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meal trays according to prescribed diet orders, portion guidelines, and established standards. • Verify that each tray matches the patient’s dietary restrictions, including allergies and texture‑modified diets. • Deliver meal trays to patient units in a timely and courteous manner. • Collect used trays from patient units and return them to the appropriate area for cleaning. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the trayline, equipment, and surrounding work areas. • Restock supplies such as utensils, condiments, beverages, and meal components to ensure continuous trayline operations. • Assist in the dishroom as needed, including handling dishes, utensils, and foodservice equipment in a safe and sanitary manner. • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures. • Provide friendly, professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. • Collaborate with team members to support smooth and efficient foodservice operations. • Participate in occasional outside activities and events that require foodservice support, as needed. Essential Skills

• Experience in food service or food preparation, such as waitress, waiter, server, food prep, or food services worker roles. • Hands-on experience in foodservice operations, including food prep, line cook work, or food production. • Ability to follow detailed diet orders, portion guidelines, and dietary restrictions accurately. • Strong attention to detail to ensure correct meal assembly and adherence to dietary requirements. • Customer service skills with the ability to provide friendly and professional interactions with patients and staff. • Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization. • Willingness and ability to work rotating weekends and holidays, as well as varied shifts including evenings and extended hours as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a waitress, waiter, server, food prep, or food services worker. • Experience in roles such as cashier, cook, chef, or line cook within a foodservice environment. • Familiarity with hospital or healthcare foodservice operations is a plus. • Comfort working both in an indoor hospital setting and occasionally supporting outside activities and events. • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a diverse team.
