Job Requirements At Five Guys, our General Managers are the leaders of the restaurant. You are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, developing a high-performing team, and driving strong financial and operational results. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires ownership, accountability, and a commitment to brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
• Lead daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional food quality, cleanliness, and speed of service • Deliver on key performance metrics including Secret Shopper, ticket time, customer complaints, and CSAT • Maintain strict adherence to Five Guys brand standards and operating procedures • Ensure all food safety and sanitation requirements are met and consistently exceed expectations
Team Leadership & Development
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a strong team of Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Crew • Create a positive, high-energy work environment that reflects the Five Guys culture • Coach and hold managers accountable to performance expectations and development goals • Build bench strength and succession plans within your restaurant
Financial Performance
• Drive sales growth through operational excellence and local store marketing initiatives • Manage and control labor, food cost, and controllable expenses • Review and act on P&L statements to improve profitability • Ensure accurate inventory, ordering, and waste control practices
Execution & Accountability
• Set clear goals aligned with company KPIs and ensure consistent follow-up • Execute action plans to improve performance in key areas such as complaints, problem resolution, and food safety • Maintain compliance with company systems, reporting, and documentation standards • Ensure proper scheduling to support both service and financial targets
