**Senior Residential Care Worker**
Location: Uxbridge Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience Full-time, permanent
We are recruiting an experienced **Senior Residential Care Worker** to join an Ofsted-registered residential home supporting adolescent boys with **Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)**.
**Key responsibilities**
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the health, welfare and development of young people. * Lead shifts and take responsibility for the operation of the home when required. * Act as keyworker for individual young people: contribute to care plans, reviews and transitions. * Supervise, support and develop junior staff, including carrying out formal supervisions. * Manage day-to-day household routines (cooking, shopping, appointments, activities) and support education participation. * Apply approved de-escalation and behaviour-management strategies, record and report incidents appropriately. * Maintain compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding procedures, and company policies. * Contribute to a positive, inclusive culture that respects young people's social, emotional and cultural needs.
**Working pattern**
* Rolling rota: **2 day on and 2 days off** * The rota includes **sleep-ins**, which are shared across the team. Any shortfall against the 12.5 shift requirement will be scheduled within the same month.
**Person specification / requirements**
* **QCF / NVQ Level 3** in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent (essential). * Proven experience working in residential childcare, ideally with young people with **Learning Disabilities and EBD**. * Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and Ofsted standards. * Experience of supervising or leading staff and conducting formal supervisions. * Good written and verbal communication skills and confident record-keeping. * Ability to work calmly under pressure and to manage challenging behaviour. * Flexible, reliable, and committed to professional development. * Driving licence desirable (role may involve taking young people to appointments).
