In order to fill a fixed-term position in full-time (39.83 hours/week = 100%) at the earliest possible date, we are looking for a Three-year Postdoc (m/f/d) in X-ray photoemission spectroscopy of lithium batteries (TV-L 13 100%) The chair of "Atomic-scale Characterisation" is studying materials at the atomic level. The chair of Atomic-scale Characterisation (Ruhr-Universität Bochum Atomic-Scale Characterisation ( ruhr-uni-bochum.de ) is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in chemistry/materials science with a strong background in X-ray-based spectroscopy studies of battery interphases or electrocatalyst materials. Scope: full-time Duration: fixed-term, 3 years Start: at the earliest possible date Apply by: 2026-07-05 Your tasks: - Performing and analyzing X-ray photoemission spectroscopy meausurement on battery and/or electrocatalst materials - Carrying out and analyzing synchrotron-based X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopy on electrodes - Performing hard X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy measurements on battery materials and analyzing data - Writing short proposals to apply for beam time - Assembling lithium or sodium metal battery assembly and fabricating electrode or coin cells - Performing electrochemical measurements of battery cells - Writing papers and managing scientific projects - Contributing to teaching activites in the chair.
