The Global Trade Compliance Leader is responsible for leading and advancing HemoCue’s global trade compliance program and supporting the business in navigating an increasingly complex global trade environment. This role serves as HemoCue’s primary subject matter expert for import and export compliance, owns the global trade compliance strategy, and works hands-on with business partners to strengthen processes, controls, and capabilities across HemoCue’s global footprint.

The Global Trade Compliance Leader will shape and strengthen HemoCue’s trade compliance program, establishing practical, risk-based approaches, building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and developing sustainable trade compliance capabilities through the Trade Champion network. The role will partner closely with HemoCue business and functional leaders and with Danaher Diagnostics Trade Compliance resources.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Own and execute HemoCue’s global trade compliance strategy and program, establishing practical, risk-based processes and controls that support compliance with applicable import, export, customs, sanctions and export control requirements. • Serve as HemoCue’s primary trade compliance subject matter expert and trusted business partner, providing practical guidance to Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Legal, Regulatory and other key stakeholders across HemoCue’s global footprint. • Lead the continued maturation of the trade compliance program, including policies and procedures, classification, origin, valuation, export controls and sanctions, licensing, broker oversight, recordkeeping, audit and monitoring, training, and corrective actions. • Work hands-on with regional and local teams to identify and resolve trade compliance issues, assess risk, support regulatory inquiries and audits, and implement sustainable process improvements. • Build organizational trade compliance capability through HemoCue’s Trade Champion network, providing guidance, training, tools and ongoing support to enable effective execution and escalation across the business. • Partner with Danaher Diagnostics and other trade compliance stakeholders to leverage expertise, tools and best practices while translating global requirements into practical solutions appropriate for HemoCue. • Support the organization in on-boarding and due diligence of new channel partners and releasing products to new markets.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Business, Supply Chain, Law or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in global trade compliance. • Experience working in trade compliance within a regional or global business environment, with working knowledge of import/export requirements, customs, export controls and sanctions. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work hands-on and translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes and controls. • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions, cultures and geographies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk, prioritize work and drive continuous improvement.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• A medical device, diagnostics, manufacturing or other regulated global business environment. • Developing or improving trade compliance processes, controls, training, auditing or technology solutions. • Professional trade compliance or customs certification, or advanced education in international trade, business, supply chain or a related field.
