## Job summary
As an autonomous practitioner you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Managing a complex caseload within the multi-disciplinary team setting, the post holder will provide a range of high-quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include full mental health assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and therapeutic interventions.
Within a systemic and holistic framework, you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and provide therapeutic interventions, ensuring this is done evidencing shared decision making and partnership working with children and young people, their families and carers.
You will provide advice, information, consultation and supervision within the service and externally within your specialist area.
As part of working together you will actively liaise with and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CAMHS team and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies that work within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health THRIVE framework.
This is a clinical post and the expectation of time management is the majority of time will be spent in actual practice.
### Main duties of the job
To manage a complex caseload and exercise a high level of autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, formulation, treatment and discharge of children, young people and their families/carers. To utilise specialist knowledge and skills to develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based care plans in collaboration with children, young people and families, liaising with and referring to relevant agencies as appropriate.
To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop risk management plans for children and young people with complex mental health needs, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in line with local and national policy.
To provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, supporting decision-making and the management of complex and high-risk presentations. To provide clinical supervision, consultation, mentoring and support to junior staff, students and colleagues, promoting reflective practice, professional development and high standards of care.
To contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit and outcome monitoring activities, supporting continuous improvement in patient care and service delivery.
To work collaboratively with education, social care, primary care and voluntary sector partners to ensure coordinated care for children, young people and families.
To maintain accurate and timely clinical records and contribute to the achievement of service objectives, performance targets and quality standards

**The Costs for a DBS**
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.

* Qualifications in Psychotherapeutic approaches, e.g., CBT/IAPT qualification and/or accreditation * Mentorship course ENB998 or equivalent. * Qualification in research/audit * Relevant postgraduate or masters level qualification.
### Experience

* You must have substantial post qualification experience of working in Young People's mental health services. * Experience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (i.e., Inpatient or CAMHS) * Proven experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficulties in the community and/or inpatient services. * Extensive experience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding. * Extensive experience of developing and providing evidenced based assessments, formulations, and intervention programmes to children, young people and families * Experience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agencies. * Experience of complex caseload management, frequently dealing with distressing and emotional circumstances, working within a multidisciplinary mental health setting * Experience of mentoring and supervision of others * Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and a willingness to follow Trust Policy and Procedures
