Senior Specialist – Next Gen Platform Strategy, Consulting & Executive Communications
Team Overview
The Next Generation Network team is at the heart of Mastercard’s transformation, driving innovation and modernization to ensure the network remains resilient, flexible, and competitive in a rapidly evolving payments landscape. This team is responsible for building the next generation of Mastercard’s core payment switch, designed to support the future of payment flows across transaction types, payment schemes, credentials, and emerging use cases.
Within the Next Gen Network team, Network Expansion focuses on leveraging Mastercard’s modernized network capabilities to unlock new products, new business models, and new revenue opportunities, including alternative switching models and payment use cases beyond traditional Mastercard card transaction switching.
Role Summary
This role operates at the intersection of platform strategy, consulting, program management, and executive communications. The successful candidate will partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and market-facing teams to synthesize complex information into clear updates, strategic narratives, and executive-ready materials that accelerate understanding, alignment, and decision-making.
The individual will help shape how the Next Gen platform is positioned internally, translating technical concepts and platform capabilities into executive updates, roadmap tracking and visibility, commercialization strategies, market-facing messaging, and leadership communications. Success in this role requires consulting judgment, intellectual curiosity, executive presence, strong writing and visual storytelling skills, and the ability to rapidly distill ambiguity into structured insights and actionable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Documentation, Communications & Storytelling
Create executive-level presentations, briefing materials, leadership updates, decision papers, whitepapers, and board-ready summaries.
Transform technical inputs into concise, structured, and compelling business narratives and documentation.
Produce visual frameworks, capability maps, journey diagrams, operating model materials, and adoption narratives that make the platform easy to understand and consume.
Develop messaging, positioning, and communication assets tailored for senior executives, regional leadership, internal stakeholders, and potential market-facing audiences.
PMO, Governance & Cross-Functional Coordination
Act as a central coordination point across NP Product Management and market-facing teams tracking initiatives, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and executive action items across the Next Gen agenda.
Create repeatable processes, templates, and governance mechanisms that improve transparency, accountability, and cross-functional alignment.
Help prepare concise status updates that distinguish progress, decisions required, risks, blockers, and support needed.
Platform Strategy & Product Enablement
Capture stakeholder feedback, market needs, and industry trends to inform long-term platform positioning and prioritization.
Help define the strategic narrative for how Next Gen capabilities create value across products, rails, markets, regions, credentials, and customer segments.
All About You
Communication & Influence: Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with a proven ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams.
Technology & Business Acumen: Experience in payments, fintech, enterprise technology, digital transformation, and complex global organizations, supported by strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
Strategy & Transformation Expertise: Experience in consulting, technology advisory, business transformation, product strategy, PMO, and strategic communications.
Executive Problem Solving: Ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize complex information, and develop data-driven executive recommendations.
Preferred Background
Consulting background from a strategy, management, technology, or payments consulting environment.
Experience supporting executive leadership teams, PMO organizations, transformation offices, product strategy groups, or Chief of Staff functions.
Experience creating C-suite, board-level, EVP/SVP-level, or senior stakeholder presentations and strategic decision materials, with assets such as playbooks, capability maps, roadmaps, operating model views, and adoption narratives.
Understanding payment networks, product operating models, platform strategies, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Fluent in English both Verbal and Written.
