About this role

1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Shop Mechanic to support maintenance and repair of construction and industrial equipment at our Evansville, Indiana facility. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues on construction and industrial equipment Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company standards Repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, pumps, valves, and other components as required Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions Maintain accurate service and maintenance records Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Collaborate with shop supervisors and other mechanics to meet operational deadlines Assist with equipment preparation for field deployment and return inspections Equipment Serviced May Include Earthmoving and material handling equipment Cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts Diesel-powered construction equipment Industrial tools and support equipment

Requirements

Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on heavy construction or industrial equipment Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Proficiency with diagnostic tools and shop equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment Valid driver’s license required Preferred Qualifications OEM or manufacturer certifications Welding or fabrication experience Experience working in industrial or large-scale construction environments Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed primarily in a shop setting with occasional outdoor exposure Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting required Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all timesBenefits
