The OpportunityOur partner is hiring a Founding Solutions Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to serve as a core technical partner across sales, product, and customer deployments. This is a highly hands-on role focused on making the product work in real customer environments. You’ll be embedded in deal cycles, customer installs, and onboarding—while also contributing directly to internal tooling and the product roadmap.
This role is ideal for a technically strong, customer-facing engineer who enjoys working close to real-world problems, bridging hardware and software, and operating at the intersection of engineering and GTM.
Responsibilities Act as the end-to-end technical partner across enterprise deal cycles Support customer installs, onboarding, and early-stage deployments Build and maintain internal tooling (e.g., Retool) for customer and deployment management Develop and extend APIs and developer-facing endpoints Integrate the platform with customers’ third-party systems, including: Access control systems Alarm and security systems Camera and sensor infrastructure Partner closely with hardware and software engineering teams to: Prioritize customer-driven product needs Inform and execute on the product roadmap Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across deployments
Requirements 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or customer-facing engineering roles Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience working with APIs Comfort integrating with third-party systems and external tooling Experience working in customer environments and supporting live deployments Ability to collaborate closely with product, hardware, and software teams Comfortable operating in early-stage environments with ambiguity and rapid iteration Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
