About the Job As Batch and DB Performance & Tuning Expert you will work with the Performance & Tuning Team to optimize and tune processes within the ABS environment, with a focus on batch operations. Your responsibilities include not only the expansion and evaluation of performance data from the Performance Warehouse but also the analysis of DB2 statements. You will serve as a point of contact for application developers on specific optimization questions, providing them with recommendations and concrete requirements. Additionally, you will maintain constant communication and contact with colleagues in DB2 administration and architects. What You Do
• Conduct End-to-End (E2E) and CIT Performance Measurements: Lead the evaluation of system performance from end-to-end, ensuring all components function efficiently and effectively. • Performance Monitoring in Production: Implement and oversee continuous performance monitoring processes in production environments to identify and resolve potential issues proactively. • Various Performance Measurements: Execute diverse performance measurement activities to assess system capabilities and identify areas for improvement. • Coding for Frameworks and Tests: Develop and maintain code for performance testing frameworks, ensuring robust and reliable test environments. • Conduct Neoload General Load Tests and ServiceABS: Utilize Neoload tools to perform general load testing and evaluate ServiceABS performance, ensuring scalability and reliability. • Conduct Neoload Citrix Base Client Tests: Execute Neoload measurements specifically for Citrix base client tests to ensure optimal Windows Base Client reliability client-server interactions. • Utilize Neoload Tools: Leverage Neoload tools for comprehensive performance testing and analysis, providing insights and recommendations for system enhancements. • Utilize deep insurance domain knowledge across composite insurance (property, life, health) to support testing initiatives. • Apply testing methodologies to design, execute, and evaluate comprehensive test cases. • Work with the ABS data model and be familiar with ABS GGRL content and rights (Level 1 certification desirable). • Prepare, execute, and evaluate client performance and load tests using tools such as NeoLoad, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Grafana. • Automate regression and integration tests using UFT (Unified Functional Testing) for Java fat client applications. • Create and maintain UFT scripts (VBScript) embedded in the UFT-Master, ensuring integration with C#-based scheduler and recovery components. • Conduct end-to-end tests for release approvals, continuous integration tests (CIT), smoketests, and baseline comparisons. • Perform test execution for infrastructure-related areas, including cloud and Citrix environments, using tools like NeoLoad and Visual Studio Code. • Manage and analyze test data using SQL and coordinate closely with the insurance department for accurate test data provisioning. • Analyze test results and generate reports using SAS macros and evaluation templates. • Develop and maintain custom test frameworks and utilities in Java and C#. • Use GitHub and SVN for version control and JIRA for defect tracking. • Manage VDI TestPool environments, including VDI master creation and maintenance. • Coordinate with UFT vendors for troubleshooting and issue resolution. • Contribute to infrastructure-related forums (VDI-JF) and support enhancements for Windows base client tests. What You Bring
• Strong ABS knowledge specifically in property, life, and health domains. Preferably ABS L1 (Fellow) certified. • Hands-on experience in test automation, scripting, and performance testing. • Proficiency with UFT, VBScript, Java, C#, and SQL. • Good to have experience using NeoLoad for background load and web service tests. • Familiarity with test frameworks, test cockpits, and automation tools for Java fat client applications. • Knowledge of GitHub and SVN for source control and collaboration. • Expertise in SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide for test result evaluation. • Familiar with Visual Studio Code and Eclipse/IntelliJ for Java frameworks, for tool development and automation. • Sound understanding of test types: End2End, CIT, smoketests, baseline tests, infrastructure validations. • Comfortable working with infrastructure test environments such as Citrix, VDI, and cloud systems. • Experience in defect tracking, coordination with IT teams, and root cause analysis. • Proven experience in performance measurement and monitoring. • Proficiency in coding and developing testing frameworks. • Familiarity with Neoload tools and methodologies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
