About this role

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior NetSuite Engineer to serve as a technical and functional owner of NetSuite, with deep expertise across Order-to-Cash (O2C), Record-to-Report (R2R), and core accounting processes. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, Tax, and IT to design, build, and scale NetSuite solutions that enable accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting domain knowledge with hands-on NetSuite configuration and development expertise, and has experience supporting complex revenue models, multi-entity environments, and close automation.

Key Responsibilities NetSuite Ownership & Solution Design

Act as a senior technical and functional lead for NetSuite, owning design decisions and best practices across O2C and R2R Translate business requirements into scalable NetSuite solutions using native configuration and custom development where required Lead NetSuite architecture decisions across subsidiaries, accounting books, and integrations

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

Own NetSuite support and enhancements for

Quotes → Sales Orders → Billing → Revenue Recognition → Cash Application

Configure and optimize

Billing schedules, invoice automation, and credit memo workflows Revenue Recognition including SSP, fair value pricing, and rev rec rules Multi-element arrangements, usage-based billing, subscriptions, and amendments

Partner with Sales Ops and RevOps on

Salesforce → NetSuite integrations Deal structure validation and downstream accounting impacts

Reduce manual effort, billing errors, and revenue leakage through automation and controls.

Record-to-Report (R2R) & Accounting

Own NetSuite processes supporting

General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and Consolidations

Design and enhance

Month-end and quarter-end close workflows Journal entry automation and approvals Account reconciliations and variance analysis support

Support multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-book accounting environments Ensure alignment with GAAP/IFRS requirements, SOX controls, and audit readiness

Customization & Development

Develop and maintain

SuiteScript (1.0 / 2.x), SuiteFlow workflows, SuiteBuilder customizations Saved searches, dashboards, KPIs, and financial reports

Build robust approval workflows, validations, and exception handling Optimize system performance and reduce technical debt

Integrations & Data Management

Own and support integrations between NetSuite and

Salesforce, billing platforms, payment processors, banks, tax engines, and data warehouses

Partner with integration teams to ensure

Data accuracy, idempotency, and error handling

Lead data migrations, transformations, and historical data loads

Controls, Compliance & Audit

Design and maintain SOX-compliant controls within NetSuite Support internal and external audits by

Providing system documentation Explaining configurations and accounting logic

Ensure strong role-based access controls and segregation of duties

Stakeholder Partnership & Leadership

Serve as a trusted advisor to

Accounting, FP&A, RevOps, Tax, and Finance leadership

Lead NetSuite initiatives including

New module rollouts Re-implementations or major upgrades

Mentor junior NetSuite administrators and engineers Create and maintain system documentation and runbooks.

Required Qualifications

7–10 years of experience with NetSuite ERP environments Strong hands-on experience supporting O2C and R2R processes Experience in SaaS, subscription, or usage-based revenue models strongly preferred Proven experience supporting month-end close and revenue accounting teams

Technical Skills

Expert in: NetSuite GL, AR, AP, Revenue Management, and Billing

SuiteScript (2.x preferred), SuiteFlow, and Saved Searches

Strong experience with:

Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) Multi-entity and intercompany accounting NetSuite integrations and data imports Concur, Coupa and other financial systems

Working understanding of:

GAAP accounting principles Revenue recognition and deferred revenue Financial close and reporting processes

Ability to connect system design decisions to downstream accounting and reporting impacts

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills; able to bridge technical and accounting audiences Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Ability to lead initiatives independently and influence without authority

Preferred Qualifications

NetSuite certifications (Administrator, ERP Consultant, SuiteCloud Developer) Experience with

SOX-compliant environments Pre-IPO or public company finance systems Global tax engines (Avalara, Vertex)

Prior experience leading a NetSuite re-implementation or major transformation
