About this role

What will you be doing?

As a EC&I Engineer you will join a team in Warrington to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector. We are looking for EC&I Engineers will have a strong background in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining systems across industrial or high-tech environments. These engineers should be familiar with the industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC 61513, IEC 61227, and IEC 61508.Create detailed designs for electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.Collaborate with vendors to source and manage equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and timelines. Required Skills:

Proficient in relevant design and simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, EPLAN)Knowledge of grid codes, standards, and regulatory frameworksRequired Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.Desirable Skills:

Background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation engineeringExperience working on industrial or safety-critical projectsPLC programming and fault-finding (Siemens, Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Schneider)SCADA / HMI development and commissioningControl panel design, wiring diagrams and schematicsInstrumentation selection, calibration and loop checkingKnowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)Understanding of control systems and PID loopsExperience with low voltage electrical systems.Exposure to hazardous or regulated environments (defence, energy, oil & gas, nuclear)Site commissioning and testing experienceAbility to interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong documentation and reporting skills Why join us?
