About this role
i) Minimum 5 years of professional experience in optical transmission networks (DWDM/SDH/OTN) ii) Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with OTN technology iii) Minimum 1 year of project management or project coordination experience iv) Must have practical experience with DWDM/OTN/telecom equipment installation, commissioning, and testing v) Preference: Site engineering experience for large-scale network rollouts vi) Preference: Experience with multi-vendor DWDM platforms Vacancies/Slots: (01 at PMO Islamabad) Max. Age Limit Required: 30 Years + 05 years = 35 years Age Relaxation: As per Government Rules (Age will be calculated from the last date of publication of advertisement). 1. Technical coordination and supervision of DWDM network installation activities at assigned project sites 2. Site survey, planning, and preparation of site readiness reports for DWDM equipment installation 3. Coordination with vendors and contractors for equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning activities 4. Review and verification of technical designs, engineering drawings, and implementation plans 5. Oversight of DWDM/OTN equipment installation including racks, shelves, optical amplifiers, and network management systems 6. Supervision of optical fiber splicing, testing, and integration activities 7. Conduct and witness acceptance testing including optical power measurements, OSNR, BER, and end-to-end connectivity tests 8. Documentation of installation progress, test results, and as-built configurations 9. Technical troubleshooting and resolution of issues during installation and commissioning phases. 10. Coordination with NTC NOC Transmission team for network integration and cutover planning 11. Quality control inspections to ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards 12. Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for Project Manager 13. Management of project materials, equipment inventory, and site logistics at assigned locations 14. Coordination with regional Project Engineers for standardization of implementation practices 15. Support to Project Manager in vendor performance evaluation and contract compliance monitoring 16. Preparation of punch lists, defect reports, and follow-up for resolution 17. Support in preparation of technical documentation for project handover to operations team 18. Any other technical tasks assigned by Project Director/ Director NOC NTC HQs related to DWDM project execution Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronic / Telecom)
