The Department of Chemistry is looking for a Research Fellow (Project Officer) to support and manage an European project.

Project: NATPRIME “Effective Delivery of Nucleic Acid Therapeutics via Designed Nanocarriers” Co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement n° 101168881 and co-funded by UK Guarantee Scheme.

The project brings together academics and companies with expertise in organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, biophysics, particle science, biology, immunology and gene therapy.

The consortium includes nine academic institutions and three companies, with the University of Warwick and the Eindhoven University of Technology being the lead institutions. The team at the University of Warwick will be comprised of the NATPRIME Project Officer and Project Coordinator, Prof. Remzi Becer.

The post holder will be coordinating all scientific outputs and supporting the consortium’s research and training activities. You will take a lead on the management and coordination of the scientific and administrative aspects of NATPRIME, supporting the project coordinator Professor Remzi Becer.

Scientific knowledge and experience in the relevant field is essential.

The programme commenced on 1st October 2024, and we have recently completed the recruitment of 20 ambitious Doctoral Candidates (DCs). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the DCs and their supervisors to prepare comprehensive review articles on various topics within the NATPRIME project. Hence, you will have the ability to interact appropriately with a wide range of people both internal and external, from Academic and Professional Services, and across all levels.

The position will play a key role in helping and motivating the group’s PhD and master’s students, as well as collaborating closely with them.

You will be required to travel frequently within the UK and EU to organise and attend consortium meetings, servicing the consortium meetings and preparing reports to submit to the EU.
