About us

The University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. PACE aims to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements.

Our activities primarily take place at Madingley Hall (a residential Grade I listed building), which provides facilities for conferences and events, and a full hotel service. Madingley Hall has 13 meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a bar and lounge, set in 8 acres of grounds (including Capability Brown designed gardens).

The PACE HR team contributes to PACE mission by delivering a reliable and efficient HR service to more than 200 employees, ensuring smooth processes, timely support, and consistent adherence to HR best practices.

The Role

In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, maintain accurate employee records, and support key processes such as recruitment, onboarding and compliance. You will work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, helping to create a positive and efficient employee experience.

Your skills

You will demonstrate the following skills:

Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn new computing packages High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of their work The ability to work effectively as part of a team Knowledge of HR principles, best practices and processes

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

Elements of this role are suitable for hybrid working, where staff can split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. The frequency of the remote elements of the role can be discussed with the recruiting manager.
