About this role

Join the Transport Studies Unit in the School of Geography and the Environment to help shape the future of youth-centric mobility research. We’re seeking an early-career researcher to play a key role in CAMINUP, an international project exploring young carers’ everyday mobilities and how urban planning can better support them. Based mainly in London, you’ll conduct qualitative fieldwork, develop innovative methods, co-create knowledge with communities and policymakers, and produce high-impact research and publications.

You’ll steer your own academic activities, contribute to public engagement, support funding applications, take part in teaching, and engage fully in the TSU’s lively academic community. We welcome applicants completing or holding a PhD in Human Geography, Urban or Transport Planning, or related fields, with strong qualitative research skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to inclusion. Experience with interdisciplinary work, public engagement, or international collaboration is an advantage.

If you’re ready to help reimagine more inclusive urban futures for young people, we’d love to hear from you.
