About the role
You will play a leading role securing a first class result in REF 2029 for Imperial, which in 2021 was home to the greatest concentration of high-impact research of any major UK University. This role will be coordinating the delivery of REF 2029 for Imperial. Requiring excellent programme management skills, knowledge of REF and data analysis to ensure a strong performance in REF 2029.
What you would be doing
This role is within the Planning and Insight division. Do you enjoy working with and analysing research and staff data? Do you have an excellent eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem solving? Are you a skilled communicator with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders? Then this is an exciting opportunity to join the division and play a pivotal part in delivering the REF.
The REF is a complex, multi-year project that delivers significant income to Imperial and requires coordination across the whole institution with significant systems integration.
You will have line management responsibilities for the work and duties of the REF Project Manager and REF Impact Manager, and coordinate the activity of other functions responsible for delivering the REF within Faculties, ICT, Library and People teams.
What we are looking for
To do this successfully, you will:
Have experience of working in a research intensive environment; Have experience of managing complex projects or processes across multiple functions Have a strong eye for detail, with the ability to juggle a busy workload to tight deadlines Demonstrate knowledge of REF and research funding in the UK Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of individuals across the organisation Excellent numerical and analytical skills combined with ability to translate the analysis into policy implications
