Porchester Junior School is in the heart of Carlton, educating children from 7-11 years. The school’s vision and ethos are at the heart of everything we do. We provide a child‑focused learning environment which promotes a love of learning, and our ambition to develop pupils as leaders runs throughout the school.
We recognise the individuality of every child and ensure that each one achieves their full potential. This was recognised in our recent Ofsted inspection (April 2026), where the school was judged to achieve a strong standard in all areas, with inspectors highlighting our inclusive culture, high expectations and calm, purposeful learning environment.
Our school is proud of the strong bonds created with our children, staff and families; we call ourselves the Porchester Family, reflected in pupils’ views of the school as “one big family” (Ofsted, 2026). Our staff have a ‘can-do’ approach, care for each other, learn together and work as a high‑performing team. Importantly, we also know how to have fun!
