About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a motivated Physiotherapist to join our Pulmonary Rehabilitation team.

The successful candidate will be based at Mount McKinley, Shrewsbury or Halesfield, Telford and will work across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin as part of our pulmonary rehabilitation team.

The successful individual must have an interest in Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory Physiotherapy within a community setting and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner.

Main duties of the job

To provide physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis and evidence-based, holistic, patient centred care for patients with respiratory conditions and to refer on to other health and social care providers as appropriateo Working in partnership with patients, their carers and the multidisciplinary team to ensure the patient's physical, spiritual and emotional needs are met.o To work as a member of the pulmonary rehabilitation service, contribute to its development and provide multidisciplinary care (within the post holders sphere of competence) to respiratory patients in any setting required by the serviceo To assist in leading pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for respiratory patients including exercise training and disease management education, promoting patient self-managementleading to improved quality of life.o To develop the post holders own professional practice by keeping up to date with clinical developments and responding to available evidence.o Employed by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, the post holder may have future opportunities to undertake 6 month rotations within Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (SCHT) and across The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS. This will allow exposure to a variety of settings increasing your skills and knowledge base and allowing you to explore where your career could take you.

Person Specification

Training and Qualifications Essential

Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy Registered with the Health Professions Council Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including attendance at recent courses relevant to physiotherapy

Experience Essential

Completed broad range of experience including core areas; respiratory, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and neurology Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team Experience of audit, current policy and outcome measures Experience of assistance in student supervision or willing to develop skills Experience of working in NHS or similar setting

Other Essential

Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Organisation, planning, prioritisation and decision making skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to cope with working in a stressful environment, including emotional or aggressive patients and carers Able to present information, written and verbal, in a clear and logical manner
