Job summary
The Devonshire Lodge Practice is a well established, high performing NHS practice serving a diverse community of around 8,500 patients. We are a visionary, forward-thinking and progressive GP practice where quality of patients care and clinician wellbeing genuinely matter.
We are seeking for a salaried GP to become part of our supportive and collaborative team. The role is for 2-3 sessions per week, preferably Thursday and Friday.
The candidate must be fully registered with the General Medical Council, have suitable medical indemnity insurance, and be listed on the performers list for general medical services.
Main duties of the job
Deliver a mix of routine and urgent GP consultations ( face-to-face and telephone as clinically appropriate ).Manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.Provide appropriate prescribing, investigation, and referrals.Ensure safe and effective clinical decision making and safety-netting.Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.Participate in clinical meetings and practice development activitties.
About us
At The Devonshire Lodge Practice, we have a fantastic clinical and administration team. the clinical team consist of GP partners, salaried GPs, practice nurse, HCA, clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioner, social prescriber and FCP.
The admin team consists of care coordinators and admin/reception staff who are all well trained to support both patients and clinicians.
The practice uses EMIS, DOCMAN, AccuRx and Rapid Health total tirage system.
Job description Job responsibilities
Support with the total triage appointment system.Deliver safe, evidence based clinical care including acute, chronic, and preventative consultations.Provide continuity of care, support complex cases and contribute to positive patient outcomes.Work efficiently with the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient allocation and reduce unnecessary GP workload.Delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.Process laboratory results, correspondence and clinical documents in a timely manner.Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Experience working as a GP in UK Hold full GMC registration with licence to practice. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. Included on the NHS England Medical performers list. Evidence of continuing professional development and participation in appraisal and revalidation.
Desirable
MRCGP Additional qualifications relevant to General Practice. Additional clinical interests ( e.g. diabetes, women's health, frailty, mental health ) Familiarity with EMIS and structured clinical tmeplates.
