Description About the Role Under the direct supervision of Car Equipment Division Supervisor or Foreman, the incumbent performs skilled electrical work in the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and testing of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment on PATH fleet of railcars. Responsibilities Some specific functions and duties of an Electrician at Car Equipment Division are: Troubleshoot, test, repair, rewire electrical and electronic equipment of the railcar subsystems such as traction control, HVAC, lighting, communications, auxiliary power supply, electronic signage, and all other electrical/electronic system/subsystems that make up the whole railcar. Performs extensive fault log downloads from the railcar using computerized Portable Test Equipment (PTE) to conduct troubleshooting and repair of railcar failures/defects. Performs removal, installation, assembly and disassembly of various railcar systems/subsystems; performs repair and overhaul of railcar
