About this role

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Educator to join the existing education/senior management team within Chapel Allerton Hospital. We are motivated to influence the future of healthcare through education and staff development. Are you passionate about staff education? We are looking for a Clinical Educator (CE) to support the delivery of our educational strategies and enhance learning across a variety of healthcare disciplines, including Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Professional groups. Additionally, the CE will need to provide education surrounding clinical incidents within the CSU; always striving to be clinical safety is prioritised through learning. Working clinically alongside members of the nursing staff, you will facilitate learning new skills, taking on new roles and responsibilities. This will entail facilitating assessment of staff competence when taking on these new skills and providing individualised feedback. Some examples of sessions you may facilitate, consist of: Clinical Skills, Moving & Handling, fit testing, and student support. Additionally, there may be specific sessions delivered in line with trust needs.

Main duties of the job The Jobholder will play an essential role supporting many different disciplines education, such as Clinical Support Workers, Nurses, and Doctors as a named few. They will be responsible for facilitating education, training and practice development within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The job holder will facilitate the development of clinical staff both registered and unregistered.

The job holder will support the assessment of the quality of clinical and other practice learning environments, and implement interventions for improvement. The job holder will support mentors / assessors and clinical professional development for preceptorship. They will ensure that the preceptorship programme is equitable and supportive of newly qualified staff.

The job holder will support the development of clinical practice mentors and key trainers, providing supervision through on-site support and continuous professional development activities.

The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
