We are seeking an accomplished leader who is currently serving as Chief Medical Officer within a comparable organisation. You will have considerable experience in medical management and a demonstrable track record of clinical leadership.
As Chief Medical Officer, you will be a key member of the Trust's Board of Directors and Executive Team. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Medical Officer is the Trust's most senior medical professional, providing executive leadership for medical practice, clinical effectiveness, research and innovation across the organisation. You will provide assurance to the Board of Directors on clinical quality, medical governance and research performance, while acting as a senior ambassador for the Trust, regionally, nationally and internationally.
You will play a critical role in advancing evidence based cutting-edge treatments, clinical trials, precision medicine and system leadership in cancer care, ensuring that patients benefit from innovation and consistent high-quality outcomes.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and executive team, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring clinical services are adaptable and fit for the future. Your role will focus on promoting innovation and ongoing enhancement across the Trust, while fostering opportunities for learning and professional development. You will play a pivotal part in nurturing and developing the next generation of medical leaders, supporting a cohesive clinical model and progressive workforce strategy that encourages collaboration both internally and with system partners.
This is a role that requires visible, credible and compassionate leadership. You will engage and influence clinicians at every level, build strong partnerships internally and externally, and help create a culture in which multidisciplinary teams are empowered to lead improvement and deliver the highest standards of patient care.
