The opportunity
In our Product Evaluation and Qualification team (PEQ) at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we ensure the reliability and robustness of semiconductor devices through advanced testing and analysis. We offer an internship at the intersection of engineering, data, and software development, where you will contribute to improving internal workflows and engineering efficiency through modern digital solutions. As an intern, you will support the design and implementation of software tools, working with data processing, automation, and system integration. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in a real industrial environment. This internship provides an opportunity to develop practical skills in programming, data handling, and engineering applications. The duration is 6 - 12 months.

Support the design and implementation of software tools to improve engineering workflowsDevelop Python scripts for: data processing and analysis, automation of repetitive tasks as well as generation of reports and summariesWork with different data sources (e.g., measurement data, reports, logs) and transform them into structured, usable informationContribute to the integration and application of AI-based methods to enhance data analysis and information extractionSupport the setup and integration of software components in a local environmentCollaborate with engineers to identify improvement opportunities and translate them into practical solutionsTroubleshoot and optimize tools to ensure reliability and usabilityDocument your work clearly, including design decisions, implementation, and results Your background
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related fieldStrong programming skills in Python and experience with data processing and analysisBasic understanding of machine learning / AI concepts or experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, APIs, or local models)Familiarity with Linux environments and basic system operationsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on technical tasksGood communication skills in English to document work and present results clearly More about us
