Job summary
We are seeking an outstanding Director of Operations to join us at either Basildon and Broomfield Hospital, part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT). You will be a key member of our hospital executive board, working collaboratively with clinical and corporate leaders to ensure we meet the national and local performance metrics, GIRFT, Model Hospital and CQC regulatory standards.
You will be accountable to the Managing Director of the hospital for the leadership, development and performance of the division. This will include working collaboratively across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust with Clinical Divisions, Deputy Chief Delivery Officers and in addition to system health and social care alliance partners.
You will be pivotal in the coordination of operational delivery and performance across the hospital division, working closely with operational and clinical colleagues to drive service transformation and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong governance, financial control and regulatory compliance.

Main duties of the job
If successful, some of your duties will include:
Providing leadership to ensure that we are delivering safe, high quality and efficient day-to-day operational management of the hospital, to meet the needs of patients & workforce, Achieving agreed standards, financial targets and operational performance, through role modelling the values and behaviours set out in the Leadership and Management Behaviour Framework Mobilising energy and commitment of all staff members to deliver operational performance and strategic objectives at hospital site and place level. Leading the services in the planning of future developments, transformation and ensuring that the resources and facilities fulfil the requirements of the service.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to Degree standard (or equivalent) Educated to Doctorate Level or advanced theoretical or practical knowledge Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience Essential
Experience of working at a senior managerial level within the NHS Experience of applying national best practice standards for UEC Broad experience of leading large teams of professional staff within a performance management culture Evidential success of leading teams within an acute hospital to high performing clinical services Experience of working with other statutory and voluntary organisations and the development of joint projects A record of achievement in leading and managing the delivery and improvement of clinical services - an acute hospital Experience with conflict resolution and management
