Job Description

Position Summary

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics Lifecycle Management (LCM) supports lifecycle management activities for electronic components and assemblies across sustaining manufacturing for BD APM's Advanced Hemodynamic monitoring systems. This role contributes to ensuring continuity of supply, managing component obsolescence risk, and supporting engineering change control processes. The engineer collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and external manufacturing partners to support ongoing production, product changes, and process improvements. In addition, this role actively partners with suppliers to drive development, resolve technical and supply-related issues, and improve overall supplier performance through structured problem-solving and issue tracking. This position combines manufacturing engineering support with lifecycle management responsibilities, with a strong focus on execution, cross-functional coordination, and external collaboration. This is a highly visible and strategic role that supports the future vision and evolution of LCM within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Provide engineering support to ongoing manufacturing operations, including issue resolution at contract manufacturing (CMO) site, mainly in Mexico but also other regions around the world (extensive travel is required)Support manufacturing and sustaining engineering initiatives, including supplier transfers, part changes, line extensions, system enhancements, and cost or efficiency improvementsSupport lifecycle management and issue resolution for electronic assemblies, including printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)Manage change control for ongoing manufacturing changes, including change requests, process changes, Device Master Record, product specifications, test processes, and product service processes.Deploy, review, and act upon meaningful metrics to measure, control, define, refine, and optimize processes and for process control and continuous improvement.Support monitoring and assessment of component lifecycle status and obsolescence risksAssist in execution of lifecycle mitigation strategies, including alternate part qualifications and last-time buysAssist in investigation of non-conformances and supplier-related issues, including data collection and analysisSupport execution of engineering change control processes, including Engineering Change Requests (ECR/CR), Change Notices (ECO/CN), and BOM updatesReview and support processing of supplier PCNs, including routing and coordination of impact assessmentsEnsure accurate documentation and compliance with quality system requirementsCollaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers (CMOs) to support issue resolution, component changes, and lifecycle risk mitigationPartner with cross-functional teams (engineering, sourcing, quality) to support lifecycle and manufacturing activitiesApply engineering problem-solving methods to support process improvements and manufacturing efficiencyParticipate in qualification and validation activities for components, materials, and processesSupport development of metrics and reporting for lifecycle risk, change control, and supplier performanceOther incidental duties assigned by LeadershipMaintain and ensure accuracy of product data and lifecycle information within PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline).3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, lifecycle engineering, or component engineeringBasic understanding of product and process change controlFluent in SpanishFamiliarity with BOM management and MRP/inventory systemsExposure to electronic components and assembliesExperience or exposure to engineering change processes (ECR/ECN/ECO/CR/CN)Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and key contact representing the organization on contracts or projectsAbility to read electronics/mechanical schematics and technical drawingsProven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite including MS ProjectBasic understanding of statistical techniquesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsEffective communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications

Experience in medical device or regulated industry (ISO 13485, CFR 820)Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)Exposure to component lifecycle tools or databasesExperience with supplier PCN processes and part qualificationExperience supporting root cause analysis and failure investigationsLean or Six Sigma training/certificationsKnowledge of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), including components, layout considerations, and manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole) Why Join Us?

Salary Range Information $105,500.00 - $168,800.00 USD Annual
