As a Technical Project Manager III within the APAC - Australia Branch, Markets - Equity Technology (Australia Equities), you will lead complex, delivery-led initiatives across regional and local stakeholders to improve delivery discipline, risk posture, and operational transparency. You will apply strong technical fluency and analytical reasoning to translate ambiguous business, regulatory, and operational needs into executable plans with measurable outcomes. This role is governance-focused with an explicit hands-on engineering expectation: you will drive end-to-end execution while also designing and building backend services and automations (including AI-enabled tooling) that uplift controls, efficiency, and auditability.
Job responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives for Australia Equities, defining scope, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomesRun delivery governance including integrated plans, critical path management, milestone tracking, RAID/decision logs, and escalation through closure of blockersProvide concise, high-quality senior stakeholder updates on progress, delivery health, key risks, and decisions requiredEnsure initiatives adhere to SDLC/ADLC, governance standards, and change management processes with a strong controls mindsetIdentify delivery and control risks early, provide independent challenge, and propose pragmatic, impact-weighted mitigation optionsEmbed auditability and operational readiness into delivery plans (documentation, evidence capture, readiness checkpoints, and post-release verification)Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET/C#, including APIs and service integrations supporting Australia Equities workflowsOwn technical deliverables end-to-end (solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release validation/runtime support)Build delivery and controls automation (dashboards, metrics pipelines, workflow automations) to improve transparency, quality, and risk managementApply secure coding practices and embed security controls throughout design and implementationCoordinate across product, engineering, operations, infrastructure, and vendors to manage dependencies and support UAT, cutovers, and stable production outcomes Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)3+ years' experience in financial services, with a blend of software engineering, technology delivery/project management, and technology controls exposureStrong hands-on backend development experience in .NET/C# (Java/Python as additional experience), including REST/JSON APIs and service-to-service integrationsProven experience leading delivery in complex cross-functional environments (planning, dependency management, risk management, stakeholder communications)Strong understanding of SDLC/ADLC, secure coding practices, and testing strategyDemonstrated experience operating within governance, risk, and control frameworks (change management, evidence capture, audit readiness)Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into clear status, risks, and decisions for senior stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple workstreams under time pressureExperience with Agile tools and practices (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word; MS Project a plus)Awareness of AI and emerging technologies, with interest and practical ability to apply AI-enabled tooling to improve delivery/engineering outcomes Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of Australia Equity market products (Cash Equities; Futures/Options) and front-to-back operating processesExperience delivering controls uplift, governance remediation, platform modernization, or operational risk reduction initiativesFamiliarity with data platforms, analytics tooling, and data quality/lineage conceptsDemonstrated use of automation or AI tools to improve reporting, delivery workflows, testing efficiency, or operational processes
