Stour Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic Operations Manager to join our friendly and supportive management team. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a busy environment and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining a calm, positive approach.
Working closely with the Practice Manager, and alongside the Office Manager and Nurse Manager, you will play an important role in the day to day running of the practice, helping to ensure our services are safe, efficient and responsive to the needs of both our patients and staff.
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and motivated, with plenty of initiative to solve problems and improve processes. Both salary and hours are negotiable for the right candidate.

About the role
As Operations Manager, youll help co-ordinate the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the practice, supporting the wider management team to ensure everything runs smoothly. Reporting to the Practice Manager and GP Partners, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and make a genuine difference to how the practice operates.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the practice. Work closely with the Office Manager to ensure administrative processes are effective and efficient. Maintain practice policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance including CQC standards. Supporting recruitment, staff induction, training and HR administration. Coordinating staffing, sickness cover and leave to maintain service delivery. Leading on health and safety, fire safety and premises maintenance. Coordinating vaccination clinics and patient recall programmes. Supporting the Practice Manager with financial administration, claims and reporting. Provide support with practice IT systems and digital services.

Job summary
To oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational aspects of the practice.
To support the Practice Manager in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
As this role will have access to a higher level of confidential data in the course of their employment, there is an expectation that the post holder will always maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Sensitive information could be from either internal sources, or from external partner organisations.
To manage and coordinate all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, patient services, premises and health and safety management.
Through innovative ways of working, support the Practice Manager leading the team in promoting quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, and learning and development, and ensuring the practice complies with CQC regulations.
