Derby Road Health Centre is looking to recruit a part time (25 hours) administration assist and phlebotomist to join our experienced team.
We are a busy practice with a diverse patient population, we use SystmOne as our clinical system which is linked to the hospital ICE system for pathology requesting and tracking.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated person with administration and customer service skills along with phlebotomy to assist with home visits when demand dictates.
Who will be the ideal candidate to work with our existing team of clinicians and non-clinicians.
Experience of working within a GP practice is highly desirable and experience of working independently within a supportive team is essential.
The role will include some home visits to our house bound patients therefore access to a vehicle is essential.
Working pattern will be over 5 mornings per week.
The successful candidate must have a UK driver's licence and insurance for business use.

Significant events to be reported via the in-house practice procedure Understand and apply the principles of the cold chain Know the general principles of first aid and resuscitation to be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate Know the health and safety policies and procedures within the workplace, including fire procedures, maintaining documentation, monitoring and maintaining of equipment and furniture within your area of responsibility Use the computer monitor safely in line with DSE guidelines Be able to identify the risks to health of microbiological and chemical hazards within the working environment according to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Service improvement

Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training: Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations: Blood Pressure using automated machine, Height, weight and Body Mass Index. Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions Asking smoking status and signposting to smoking cessation services. Information processes
