We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director to provide business management support to Asia Internal Audit Team
The Internal Audit Division (IAD) drives attention and resources to vulnerabilities by providing an independent and well-informed view and impactful messages about the most important risks facing our Firm. This is accomplished by performing a range of assurance activities to independently assess the quality and effectiveness of Morgan Stanley s system of internal control, including risk management and governance systems and processes. IAD serves as an objective and independent function within the Firm s risk management framework to foster continual improvement of risk management processes. This is a Director level position within Internal Operations and Quality Control family responsible for efficient and effective functioning of the department, supporting the ultimate delivery of high quality assurance services.

What you'll do in the role Assurance Planning & Execution:Manage Risk Assessment process for Asia business line, ensuring delivery to milestones including remediation of data quality issuesAccountable for completeness and accuracy of the respective audit plan, ensuring delivery to milestonesAccountable for proactively managing the execution of the audit planProactive time management of any changes to delivery, including review, challenge and approvals of changes are in placeResource Management & ModelingProactively manage resources and assignments to ensure timely delivery of the plan.Identify staff for open needs and complete due diligence on decisionsFacilitate discussions to resolve resource conflictsCoordinate and challenge Audit Coverage Directors (ACDs) on opportunities to optimize staffingReview resource options with ACDs and identify downstream impactsMaintain accurate and detailed resource schedule and analyze dataReview time and forecast entry data for team and follow up to support accuracyFinancial Oversight and Talent ManagementPropose team travel/training/consulting budget and monitor spend after approvalWork with Asia IAD COO and IAD Operations to update cost allocations to BUs/InfrastructureMonitor hiring process and confirm proper procedure followed with terminationsEnsure achievement of the Work Force Strategy and Labor cost targetsReview audit plan to identify talent development needs, review needs with managersWork with Asia IAD COO and IAD Operations to facilitate talent assessment, engagement, training, certification, onboardingProcess ImprovementIdentify and implement improvements in processes to enhance efficiencyOrganizational Engagement, Communication and Project ManagementLiaise with internal stakeholders to communicate decision and drive actionSet agendas for Asia IAD OpCo meetings, Town Halls, Skip-level meetings, Offsites, etcSupport Asia IAD OpCo and Operations in developing strategy and goals for teamActively participates in the development and implementation of new policies, processes, tools and expectations to implement enhanced resource management capabilitiesCompliance & ReportingSupport Asia IAD OpCo and IAD operations initiatives and communicationsSupport adherence to firm and department policies and proceduresQuarterly and/or Board Report production, reviewing metrics, and finalizing for submission for relevant Asia legal entitiesSupporting regulatory inspections in Asia region by providing timely information and co-ordination with senior stakeholdersManaging the Asia business continuity planning for the department
What you'll bring to the role: At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this roleKnowledge of industry, global markets, and regulatory environment. In depth understanding of business and regulatory context in Asia region is preferred.Strong understanding of audit principles, methodology, tools, and processes (e.g., risk assessments, planning, testing, reporting and continuous monitoring)Effective change and project management techniques and ability to support teams in adapting new ways of workingAbility to leverage and analyze data using tools and technology like Gen AI, Alteryx, Power BI to form data driven views and provide actionable insightsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders, driven and influence discussions and managing conflicting priorities
