Job summary
This is an exciting post to provide line management for all operational aspects of learning disability services liaising with departments and teams as required.
To assist the Clinical Leadership, Head of Services and Service Director in addressing the Trust's strategic, performance and business agenda across the portfolio.
To be a senior member of the Directorates Business team and provide input and leadership to specific workstreams as identified.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the daily organisation of staff working within the identified services ensuring staff leave, rotas, sickness and other absences are effectively managed to ensure always adequately staffed. To manage staff including responsibility for recruitment and selection, induction and staff appraisal, and supervise identified clinician to complete some of these tasks To monitor, and manage staff performance, attendance and sickness absence taking action in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. To assist with the investigation and resolution of complaints, grievances, capability and minor disciplinary issues. To provide leadership and identify and support staff in their personal and professional development ensuring that Appraisals and Personal Development Plans are appropriate to and support the Directorate's business plan, and supervise identified clinician to complete some of these tasks. To facilitate and attend regular departmental meetings and team briefs and contribute to effective communication within the department. To ensure staff attend appropriate Trust training and service specific training to meet Trust standards. To encourage a culture of staff involvement and openness.

Significant experience working in a complex organisation at senior or middle management level Proven skills in staff management, building effective relationships and networking
