Contract Type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) – Permanent
The Wellbeing Officer is a pivotal role dedicated to student support. You will be at the forefront of handling all welfare concerns, providing essential one-on-one pastoral support, and managing cases for a diverse range of students, including those with health and SEND requirements. A key part of the job is creating and monitoring support plans and ensuring the safeguarding of all students in line with policy. Beyond individual support, you'll be instrumental in organising a variety of events and activities that promote health and well-being. This requires strong collaborative skills to work with both students and colleagues to provide a supportive student experience. ABOUT THE ROLE
Ensure effective management of a student caseload linked to welfare, health and SEND in line with Study Group policies and procedures including adherence to GDPR requirements Create and maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and GDPR requirements Proactively promote internal and external services and events which support students’ health, wellbeing and academic progress Initiate support plans to implement reasonable adjustments for students with health or SEND requirements Assist students with formal processes including registering with the University health service and filling in a range of applications. Take a student-centred approach to services and events organised by the Wellbeing and Engagement Team Responding to general student queries including on reception, email and student meetings Providing information to external stakeholders including: parents, sponsors, guardians, agents, Study Group colleagues in the UK and overseas, partner university Engagement with Study Group marketing and agent visits, including presentations and contribution to marketing materials Supporting the student experience team to maintain a high level of student experience through all services
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Experience of identifying and supporting students with additional needs, including health and SEND requirements. Ability to organise events/activities/projects Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues Excellent IT, data management and record keeping skills including competency in Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, and a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies Ability to work effectively within established policies and procedures Experience of working in a diverse environment and supporting the needs of a wide range of individuals
