Position Overview
The Parts Clerk supports equipment maintenance operations by sourcing, ordering, tracking, and distributing parts and supplies needed for mobile and plant equipment repairs. This role works closely with the Equipment Manager, Shop Foreman, technicians, and vendors to ensure timely availability of parts while maintaining accurate inventory and records.
Key Responsibilities
Parts & Inventory Management Source and procure parts from multiple vendorsManage parts room inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and cost controlReceive, inspect, and distribute incoming parts to mechanics and other departmentsTrack and manage core returns to ensure vendor credits are receivedMaintain daily fuel inventory records Purchasing & Administrative Duties Create purchase orders and process invoices with correct codingResolve vendor invoice discrepanciesEnter work requests and work orders into systems (Viewpoint / CMMS / Infield)Maintain accurate filing and documentation Operational Support Assist Equipment Manager, Supervisor, and Shop Foreman as neededCoordinate timely delivery of parts for maintenance and repairOffload freight using forkliftSupport equipment team projects and ad hoc requests Customer & Vendor Interaction Serve as point of contact for vendors and general publicAnswer phones and coordinate parts requestsBuild and maintain vendor relationships
Qualifications
Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required2-5 years of related experience preferredValid forklift certification required Skills & Knowledge Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Windows)Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS, Viewpoint, etc.) preferredStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to communicate clearly and follow instructions
Work Requirements Ability to multitask and manage multiple parts requests simultaneouslyMaintain a clean and organized workspaceWillingness to work weekends as neededTeam-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist in other areas
Physical & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, and computer useOccasional bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25 lbs occasionally)Exposure to:Moderate noise, Moving equipment, Outdoor elements (weather conditions occasionally)
