Job Purpose and Impact
The Trade Compliance Operations Analyst job supports the execution of routine global trade compliance operations activities and assists trade compliance projects. Under close supervision, this job performs basic global trade and compliance transactions, ensures compliance and helps to drive continuous improvement in support of the business strategy and objectives.
Key Accountabilities
OPERATIONAL EXECUTION: Assists with routine global trade and compliance operations activities within a country or region in support of business goals, including supporting execution of global trade and compliance transactions aligned to business strategy and objectives, and validating import and export transactional data and document requirements to complete cross border filings and clearance. Part of the expectation is to process and manage day-to-day movement of cargo & ensuring that the cargo monitoring tool is up to date, while record retention requirements are maintained. He/she should be able to effectively escalate notifications and compliance alerts triggered by import/declarations to Country Lead and Compliance Excellence team and be able to suggest resolutions.TRANSACTION AUDITING: Supports regular audits and assessments of trade transactions as required to ensure compliance with related regulations, customs requirements and trade agreements.DOCUMENTATION REVIEW: Supports analysis and helps ensure trade documents, including invoices, preferential trade documentation, shipping documents, export licenses and other cross border documents are accurate, complete and in compliance with legal and fiscal requirements, and maintains records according to guidelines.RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Interacts with internal and external collaborators and partners to assist the implementation of cross border trade solutions.METRICS ANALYSIS: Collaborates with the analysis of key performance indicators and performs basic analysis for compliance operations in the designated location to support process effectiveness.CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Assists with the execution of internal global trade and compliance projects as needed to support operational process or policy improvements.
Qualifications
Customshouse Broker License or equivalent strongly preferredExperience managing SAP and global trade servicesFundamental knowledge of the elements of international trade e.g. Free Trade Agreements and International Commercial TermsMinimum 3 years of experience in customs import/export key behaviorsUse the most effective and efficient processes to accomplish tasks, focusing on continuous improvement.
