We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Treatment Room Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice team on a part/full-time basis (30-37.5 hours per week) to cover maternity leave for up to 1 year.
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with experience in primary care or community nursing who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient-centred care. As a valued member of our busy GP practice, you will provide high-quality nursing care, deliver a wide range of treatment room services, and play a key role in promoting health and wellbeing within our local community.

Job summary:
Responsible for contributing to the provision of high quality nursing care to patients, including providing the full range of Practice Nursing services and participating in Chronic Disease Management.
Job Responsibilities
Treatment Room:
Providing assessment, screening, treatment services and health education advice
Dietary advice Blood pressure checks Urinalysis Health screening Dressings (including compression bandaging) ECG Routine injections Cervical cytology sampling Routine immunisations and vaccinations (including travel vaccinations) including home visits. Removal of sutures / clips Baby immunisations Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary INR Learning Disability Reviews Ring pessary fitting desirable Pill checksChronic Disease Management:
Assisting in the delivery of comprehensive Chronic Disease Management services to patients, in accordance with Practice protocols, policies and procedures, ensuring services are developed and provided in line with best practice for the area(s) of responsibility. The post holder will be expected to undertake home visits to deliver annual reviews.
Pathological specimens and investigatory procedures:
Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs etc. Perform investigatory procedures requested by the GPs
Administration and professional responsibilities
Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients note Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded and amended Ensure appropriate items of service claims are made accurately, reporting any problems to the Lead Nurse. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports and audit Attend and participate in nursing team and practice meetings as required Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting room
Minor Operations
Assisting in the management of the Minor Operations Room as required, including maintenance of equipment and stock and ensuring appropriate items of service claims are made To assist the doctor to carry out minor operations as required Reporting of any problems to the Nurse Team LeaderSupplies and equipment
Maintenance of equipment and stock relating to patient care as required
Personal/Professional Development:
In addition to maintaining continued education through attendance at any courses and/or study days necessary to ensure that NMC professional development requirements for revalidation are met, the post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice as part of this employment, such training to include:
Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work Assisting in the provision of training to other members of the Practice team as appropriate Liaison
To work closely with other members of the nursing team, GPs, reception staff, administration and dispensary staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice, reporting any problems encountered to the relevant person and ensuring everyone is aware of the different roles within the nursing team To establish and maintain good liaison with other surgeries and agencies, including PCN staff such as First Contact Physiotherapists and Paramedics.Meetings:
To attend and contribute to various team and practice meetings as requested
