Ready to take the next step in your physiotherapy career? We're offering an exciting fixed-term Clinical Lead opportunity within our Children's Therapy Service in Central & West Lancashire. We're looking for an experienced children's physiotherapist who can bring energy, curiosity and a passion for improving care to the team. If you're keen to explore new ways of working, bring your ideas for service improvement to life, and support colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care for children and families, this role could be the perfect fit.
Based at Milestones, our purpose-built children's physical therapy centre in Ormskirk hospital, our service supports children and young people aged 0-19 across a range of specialist pathways including MSK, Early Years, Coordination Difficulties and Long-Term Conditions. In this varied and rewarding role, you will manage a caseload of children with complex and additional needs in the West Lancashire area. You will need to be able to work autonomously across a wide range of community settings such as schools, nurseries and children's own homes. Some areas are not accessible by public transport, so the ability to travel efficiently between sites, patient homes, schools and nurseries on a daily basis is essential. You will need to be well organised, confident planning your own routes, and comfortable working in a community-based environment.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead, you'll also be expected to provide expert clinical guidance and supervision, lead on specialist pathways, and help shape the future of the service in Central & West Lancashire area. You will play a key role in shaping and transforming the service in line with best practice, upholding Trust values and ensuring excellent service-user experience. A key part of the role will involve traveling across the locality to provide clinical leadership, second opinions and clinical supervision to staff within the Chorley and West Lancashire teams. Whether you already have leadership experience or are eager to develop this aspect of your practice, we will support you into the role.

Qualifications Essential
Professional Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy Current Professional Registration with HCPC Evidence of formal training / self study / specialist experience to Masters level equivalent
Knowledge Essential
Detailed understanding of clinical governance framework & implications for practice, including audit and research governance Extensive knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs Extensive knowledge of a range of therapy techniques and programmes and their applications for children with diverse needs/ related to client group Extensive critical understanding & knowledge of research, evidence-based practice and current issues relating to client group
Experience Essential
Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice. that demonstrates an in depth knowledge of specialist area Extensive experience of working with children with complex needs and their families in community settings Safeguarding of children and implementation of policy and procedures with evidence of training/updates
