Overview

The Foreperson will provide leadership and technical expertise for a solar installation crew. The Foreperson is responsible for the safety, quality, customer service, and productivity of each assigned solar installation project. The Foreperson is a soft working field supervisor position that leads a team of 6 members to successfully complete Multi Family solar projects.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the successful installation of MultiFamily solar projects including the installation of the electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid power of the customer's residential propertyWhen assigned, safely lead or assist solar battery installationsOrganize, lead, and train crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframesEnsure attention to detail with an emphasis on safety, quality, customer service, and productivityEffectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow of the project to drive productivityEnsure that there is adequate materials and equipment to safely and efficiently complete projectsEffectively maintain project documentation and photo requirementsDemonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standardsCheck on progress of installers every hour throughout the installation to ensure the installation process; Follow construction job flow proceduresDevelop a positive working dynamic within installation crew and branch co-workers; Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend solutions; Maintain consistent and appropriate interface with customer throughout construction phaseAssist the crew on the roof as needed to ensure an efficient and high quality installationPerform weekly vehicle inspection for proper tire pressure, oil level, working lights, etc.Obtain customer payments and deliver to management as requiredEnsure accuracy of your own and crew's time sheetsProvide construct-ability feedback to managementMaintain excellent lines of communicationPerform service calls when necessary100% travel required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of construction experience, including 3 year of solar installation experience. Prior experience leading teams of 3-6 preferredExperience with electrical work involving wiring up to 1000 VDC and 480 VACAbility to perform all installation duties of the Installer, Lead Installer, and ElectricianMust maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's licenseHave CPR and First Aid Certifications up to date and keep maintained for purposes of continued employment (class costs are reimbursable by the company)Certified to use equipment i.e. forklift, scissor lift, snorkel lift, skid steer ect.Osha 10 or Osha 30Electrical/PV Installation Knowledge: Working knowledge of current NEC codes. Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter. Demonstrates knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and how PV systems operate. Understands interconnection activities. Understands basic construction principles.Safety: Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safelyCustomer Service: Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and loyalty with external and internal customers and coworkers, and remains tactful when communicatingComputer skills that include, uploaded documents, email communication, photo uploads, and written reports.Skilled in producing Schedules and Method Of Procedure then following through with each.Results Driven: Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics. Works independently, as a team player, and drives results in a fast paced, team based environment. Must be willing to assist teammates and build strong relationships to achieve company and department goalsProblem Solving: Solid logical decision making and troubleshooting skills with the ability to problem solve in a timely and effective manner. Exercises good judgment. Takes ownership of issues or questions and will escalate problems to the appropriate persons and follow up accordingly with the customer. Starting salary/wage for this opportunity: $35.26 to $47.01

Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, a wellbeing program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, based on both company and individual performance, as well as short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history. Please note: Employee benefits do not apply to our Fusion and Street Sales roles, which are 100% commission-based, (1099-NEC) positions.
