Full-time 37.5 hours a week per week | Site-based
£39,392 to £41,953, depending on experience - we also offer an enhanced rate for evenings and weekends.
Qualified Registered Adult Nurse with 6-12 months post-registration experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship or equivalent programme. Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, requests and professional practices
This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.
You will be working on the Male PICU ward
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to a defined group of patients/service users, acting as the named nurse and ensuring care is assessed, planned, delivered, reviewed and evaluated in partnership with patients and their families/carers. They will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and liaise effectively with external professionals and stakeholders to support positive patient outcomes. The role includes maintaining accurate clinical records and incident reporting, participating in quality improvement and clinical governance activities, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, medicines management policies and the NMC Code. The successful candidate will support and supervise junior, agency and student staff, undertake leadership responsibilities including acting as Nurse in Charge and, where required, Bed Manager or Site Coordinator, and effectively prioritise and delegate work to maintain a safe clinical environment. They will also participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice, continuing professional development and revalidation, while promoting effective communication, professional relationships and the safe management of challenging behaviour.
