Following the introduction of the ARRS GP role, we are delighted to offer the opportunity for a qualified, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking GP to join our Primary Care Network (PCN).
We understand that different clinicians value different ways of working; therefore, we are open to discussing either a single-site working arrangement or a PCN rotation, depending on your professional preference and the needs of our member practices.
Whether you prefer the continuity of a dedicated practice team or the clinical variety of working across multiple sites within the network, we provide a supportive environment designed to help you thrive in this evolving landscape of general practice.
Main duties of the job
The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced services, including: -
In person consultationsTelephone consultationsOnline consultationsTriage callsVisiting patients at home and in nursing homesOn call dutiesChecking and signing repeat prescriptionsDealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as requiredClinical administration

North Staffordshire GP Federation is a membership organisation supporting North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent primary care, including all 66 GP Practices and 13 Primary Care Networks.
We have been approached by HIPC Primary Care Network, to employ GPs under the Additional Roles Reimbursement scheme.
Job description Job responsibilities
Clinical and administrative responsibilities: -
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationScreen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessCover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriateDevelop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICEAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Check, read and interpret pathological results for patientsEnsure appropriate follow up of patientsRecord clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standardsParticipate in clinical audits, and learning event analyses and practice meetingsEnsure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records, as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under QOF and enhanced services.Appropriate use of read codes.Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.Prescribe appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)Work with and provide support for other members of the primary health care teamPlay a lead role in the practice achieving agreed and other key performance indicator targetsParticipate in team meetings and patient engagement events

The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice as part of this employment, such training to include: -
Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.Maintain current and annual certification, e.g. CPR, Fire Safety, Information Governance.Ensure training and development is up-to-date using various training methods, on-line, group, conference.Ensure study leave allocation is utilised and planned accordingly.Provide health education to colleagues, e.g. audits, participation in educational meetings.
PCN & Practice Organisation: -
Process and action incoming patient and hospital correspondence.Attendance at in-house meetings, significant event audit meetings and others as deemed necessary.Ensure that the PCN/practice complaints system is adhered to at all times.Awareness and compliance with all relevant guidelines e.g. data protection, confidentiality and health and safety.

Qualifications Essential
The applicant must be a qualified GP with full GMC registration licence to practice and be on the performers list Hold a UK driving licence
