Overview The Permit Coordinator is responsible for preparing building permit submittal packages, as well as coordinating the efficient submittal, approval, and retrieval from local jurisdictions. This position acts as a liaison between Sunrun and jurisdictional employees, working together to resolve any redline corrections and prepare for upcoming requirement changes. The Permit Coordinator communicates the status of each permit, and works closely with internal Sunrun teams to meet branch and company goals.

Responsibilities

Review, prepare, submit, and receive permit packages in accordance with jurisdictional requirementsCoordinate payment and reimbursement of permit fees according to company guidelinesWork with internal teams and jurisdictional employees to understand and resolve any jurisdictional commentsWork with jurisdictions and Sunrun Design Engineering teams to fully understand, communicate, and resolve AHJ correctionsBe an advocate for Sunrun and work with local jurisdictions to streamline permit processesUnderstand local AHJ requirements as it relates to the permit process and update the AHJ database permitting requirements as neededSchedule appointments to meet customers and obtain customer signatures, final paperwork sign off and payment collectionOrganize all completed paperwork, and process payments in a compliant, secure manner, if assignedPrepare project documentation for construction teamsUtilize software systems to record progress of various tasksAdditional duties assigned as needed Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is requiredMinimum of 1 years of previous field construction experienceExperience with construction permitting is preferredExposure to PV design and installation processes is preferred (Understanding of PV design and installation process required for Senior Permit Technician)Must maintain a clear driving record with the ability to pass a driving background checkMust be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's licenseRegional specific expeditors/permitting licenses preferred, but not requiredMust be a motivated team player, looking to succeedExcellent customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsProfessional appearance and interactionProficient with Google Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, Workflow Management PlatformMust be able to drive to multiple locations in the Bay Area Physical Demands

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity: $21.89 to $29.18

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, based on both company and individual performance, as well as short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history. Please note: Employee benefits do not apply to our Fusion and Street Sales roles, which are 100% commission-based, (1099-NEC) positions.
