Main duties of the job As a Kitchen Assistant - Bank at Elton House Care Home in Watford, your primary responsibility is to support the catering function by assisting in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals. This role requires maintaining high standards of hygiene and contributing to effective teamwork by responding promptly to instructions and advising on the supply and quality of items needed to carry out tasks. You must be respectful and considerate towards the residents and their visitors, ensuring the dignity and individuality of each resident is honored. Successful candidates will reside in our values, demonstrating care, support, honesty, respect, and accountability in their daily activities. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments, is crucial. Essential qualifications include holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and showing high standards of personal hygiene. An efficient work ethic and the ability to respond to a demanding workload are required, along with initiative and a positive attitude toward teamwork. A caring understanding of the residents is essential for this role.

Our ideal candidatemust:
Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate anddemonstrateshigh standardsof personal hygiene. Be an efficient worker, capable ofa high levelof sustained physical effort and able torespond to a demandingworkload. Demonstrate initiative and display a positive and flexible aptitude to team working. Exhibit a caring andunderstanding attitude towards the residents.
