About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Manager, Data & Business Analytics who is passionate about turning data into actionable business insights. This role will lead the organization’s data strategy end-to-end, ensuring data is trusted, accessible, secure, and effectively used to drive decision-making across the business.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in e-commerce / DTC environments, is comfortable owning the full data lifecycle, and can partner cross-functionally to embed a truly data-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Leadership
Own and lead the organization’s Data Strategy, covering analysis, governance, data collection and integration, optimization, visualization, and security. Manage internal and external resources responsible for the Thrive Data Stack, ensuring scalability and reliability. Define and maintain a central source of truth for the business.
Data Analysis & Visualization
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define business objectives and KPIs. Proactively analyze data and trends to deliver insights and recommendations that inform strategic decisions. Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Looker or Tableau to support self-service analytics.
Data Governance
Own and standardize data definitions across the organization. Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity. Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Data Collection & Integration
Oversee tools and platforms used to collect and integrate data from multiple sources, including Shopify, third-party applications, and internal systems. Ensure seamless data flows and reliable integrations across the data ecosystem.
Data Optimization
Continuously improve data quality, accuracy, and efficiency through monitoring, cleaning, transformation, and normalization processes. Optimize ETL pipelines and data models to support scalable reporting and analytics.
Data Security
Ensure data security and confidentiality through appropriate access controls, encryption, and backup procedures. Partner with IT and security teams to uphold best practices and risk mitigation.
Collaboration & Enablement
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, and IT teams to identify data needs and deliver impactful data solutions. Provide training and ongoing support to improve data literacy and promote a data-driven mindset across the organization.
Continuous Improvement
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management, analytics, and DTC business strategies.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in data management or analytics, preferably within an e-commerce or DTC environment. Strong experience with Shopify, including data extraction, reporting, and analytics. Experience with Looker and Daasity is a plus. Solid understanding of data governance, data integration, data warehousing, and ETL processes. Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools. Strong knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR). Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-driven.
