Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Experience Designer to help create and deliver high-quality experiences for Autodesk Building Design products. If you are passionate about experience design, data-driven solutions, problem-solving, user research, complex workflows, customer engagement, or Building Information Modeling (BIM), this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

In this role, you will contribute to global initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams around the world. You will help shape experiences that address complex customer challenges while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical requirements.

The successful candidate will bring an empathetic mindset, strategic thinking, strong research and analytical skills, and a passion for data-driven design. You should be comfortable working independently, collaborating across diverse teams, and contributing to design outcomes within a global organization.

You will report to the Experience Design Manager at Autodesk China Research and Development Center (ACRD) and be part of Autodesk's global Experience Design team. This position is based in Shanghai, China.

Responsibilities

Support user research efforts to understand user needs, workflows, and pain points through interviews, observations, and synthesis of research findingsTranslate user insights into design concepts and contribute to improving product experiencesCreate design concepts, wireframes, and prototypes to explore and validate solutionsCollaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to refine and iterate on design solutionsAssist with usability testing and research activities, including prototype testing and feedback collectionPrepare design assets and documentation for development, testing, and cross-functional teamsParticipate in design reviews and discussions, incorporating feedback to improve solutionsSupport feature implementation by partnering closely with developers and addressing design-related questionsStay current with design trends, tools, and relevant product knowledgeContribute to team deliverables, including demonstrations, presentations, and design documentation Minimum Qualifications

More than 1 year of experience in interaction design, User Experience (UX) design, or related fields, including internships or academic projectsBasic understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodologiesFamiliarity with design, prototyping, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) toolsStrong visual, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environmentAbility to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary teamStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailFluency in English Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to qualitative and quantitative user research methods through coursework, projects, or professional experienceInterest in designing for complex systems, enterprise applications, or professional toolsExperience with, or strong curiosity about, Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) workflows or Autodesk productsBackground in Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or related disciplinesFamiliarity with Agile or iterative product development processesStrong curiosity, growth mindset, and proactive approach to learning The Ideal Candidate
