Job summary
The post holder will be the senior nurse in operational management, responsible for all operational issues associated with the nursing teams. This will involve providing guidance and support, working with nurses, other clinicians, multidisciplinary teams and other departments in the development of the nursing teams.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria. Main duties of the job
To operationally manage the nursing teams in the department of Neuroradiology across the Trust ensuring the delivery of modern, high quality, patient centred services.
To provide day to day visible, accessible and authoritative nursing leadership in clinical areas.
To deal efficiently and in a professional manner enquiries from both patients and staff internally and externally.

10. To offer support and advice to the radiographers and others.
11. Proactively talks to patients and their relatives related to their medical condition, patient experience and discharge plans, to provide leadership and advocacy.
12. Ensures completion of Patient Voice/Family & Friends surveys. Reviews these scores and discusses them with the team to ensure improvements are made and good practice recognised.
13. Effectively and empathetically responds to patients complaints including written responses and inclusive with team learning following the complaint.
14. Demonstrates a leadership style that is consistent and congruent with empowerment.
15. To co-ordinate and manage the team within the department, ensuring cohesion of the multidisciplinary team. To assist and co-operate with wards and emergency departments, ensuring that they are aware of scheduled times of patient procedures, delays or possible cancellations, ensuring patients are kept informed and not fasted unnecessarily.
16. Is responsible for the leading of care within their area to support the harm free care agenda at UHS.
17. Support and assist in the education of all members of staff involved in the care of neuroradiology patients in the department, wards and neuro recovery.
18. Presents risks relevant to their clinical area at site Quality and Safety meetings.
Person Specification
Essential Essential
Registered General Nurse on relevant part of the NMC register (level 1) Degree/Diploma with significant post registration experience. Awareness of IRMER (Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations) and IRR99 (Ionising Radiation Regulations) and related issues pertaining to nursing staff. Specialist training in an area of practice Level 7 Post Graduate certificate/Master's degree or equivalent of working towards. Teaching qualification (ENB 998, C&G 7303, PGCE or equivalent
