About this role

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will drive process quality and product reliability within the Optics. This role focuses on improving inspection methods, reducing defects, and ensuring consistent execution of quality standards across manufacturing operations.

You will work closely with Production, Metrology, and Engineering teams to analyze data, resolve quality issues, and implement sustainable process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Process Quality & Improvement Analyze manufacturing and inspection data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunitiesLead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA) for defects and nonconformancesDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, defect reduction, and process stabilitySupport development and optimization of inspection methods and quality controls

Standards & Compliance Develop, update, and standardize work instructions and inspection criteriaEnsure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and documentation requirementsSupport internal and external audits to ensure readiness and conformancePromote consistency in defect evaluation and inspection practices across teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Production, Metrology, and Engineering to resolve quality issues and improve workflowsSupport Measurement System Analysis (MSA, GRR) and ensure inspection equipment accuracy and calibrationAct as a key interface between manufacturing and engineering for quality-related topics

Data-Driven Decision Making Monitor and report key quality KPIs (yield, FPY, defects, escapes)Leverage data to drive actionable insights and influence operational decisionsValidate effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure improvements are sustained Qualifications

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience: 4 years of experience in manufacturing quality)2+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in precision or optical fabrication environmentsExperience with quality tools such as RCA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPAFamiliarity with ISO9001/ISO14001 standardsExperience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data analysis tools Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to interpret complex data and translate into actionable improvementsEffective communicator across technical and operational teamsStrong ownership and accountability in driving issues to resolutionAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
